Ladies Thalita de Jong wins GC of Tour Féminin de l'Ardèche

Thalita de Jong finished a successful Tour de l'Ardèche by winning her first stage race.
Race 08 September 2024

The sixth and final stage of the Tour de l'Ardèche was a short one of 80 kilometers from Le Pouzin to Privas. The riders got four categorised climbs with the most hard one La Croix de Cruas on 30 kilometers of the finish. Thalita de Jong started the last day with an advantage of 50 seconds in the general classification, and she also remained in the lead at the end of the day. Eline Jansen (VolkerWessels Women's Pro Cycling Team) took the victory in the sprint.

"I’m super happy to take home the general classification and the KOM, points and rush jersey. On the third climb of the day, one of first category, the pace was quite high and we finished the climb with 20 riders or so. Towards the finale there were still some attacks, I was focused on Maëva Squiban and Marion Bunel. In the last hard 500 meters I was well positioned, but I got stuck behind another rider and finished 5th. Eventually I take home the GC, which is the most important thing. I’m super happy to go home with all the jerseys and with a super feeling. Next up are the European Championships."
