This Sunday, the Amstel Gold Race will once again bring the Dutch hills to life. The 255.9 km route, starting in the heart of Maastricht and finishing in Berg en Terblijt, serves as the opener of the Ardennes trilogy. Over the years, Lotto Cycling Team has left a strong mark on the race, with memorable podiums and victories including Philippe Gilbert’s wins in 2010 and 2011, a second place for Jelle Vanendert in 2014, and a third place for Serge Baguet in 2001.

With a strong field of contenders at the start, it certainly won’t be an easy day out. Sports director Mario Aerts emphasizes the challenge ahead: “It won’t be an easy race tomorrow, especially when you look at the names lining up. We’ll try our best to make the race as dynamic and aggressive as possible. The goal is to anticipate well and give ourselves the best possible chance at a strong result. Arjen (Livyns) has been showing excellent form lately, so we hope to guide him toward a good result.”

A motivated and well-balanced squad will represent us in the 59th edition of the Amstel Gold Race: Arjen Livyns, Cedric Beullens, Henri Vandenabeele, Jarrad Drizners, Jonas Gregaard Wilsly, Logan Currie, and Reuben Thompson are ready to take on the challenge in South Limburg.
