Algemeen Lennert Van Eetvelt looks ahead to the Ardennes Classics

With the spring season in full swing and the Flemish Classics behind us, it’s time to turn our attention to the hilly roads of the Ardennes. For Lennert Van Eetvelt, La Fleche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Tour de Romandie are key dates marked on his calendar. “I am really curious to see how the race will unfold. Personally, I feel like my form is in a good place”, he says confidently.

With La Flèche Wallonne, including its iconic finish on the Mur de Huy, Lennert Van Eetvelt is immediately facing a race that suits him well. “On paper, the finish on the Mur de Huy should suit me very wel,” he acknowledges.

However, the strong field of competitors will make things anything but easy. “Of course, it’s still hard for me to predict exactly how the race will unfold, especially with riders like Tadej Pogačar and Remco Evenepoel on the start list. I’m really curious to see how it will play out. What I do know is that it will be crucial to stay alert. When Pogačar or Evenepoel makes a move, the other will surely follow — and if you’re not with them at that point, you know it’s over.”

On Sunday, it's straight into Liège–Bastogne–Liège — a race that ranks high on Lennert’s personal bucket list. “Obviously, Liège–Bastogne–Liège is one of those races I dream of winning someday in my career. The motivation and desire are definitely there. We’re lining up with a driven, ambitious team in the coming days, so I hope we can really show ourselves,” Lennert Van Eetvelt concludes with determination.
