ProTeam Lotto Cycling Team to race Tour de France with OQUO wheels
Over the past year and a half, Lotto Cycling Team and OQUO have worked closely together on the development of the Basque brand’s second-generation road wheels. Testing and feedback from the team have been key in defining the product. This collaboration culminates in the team's participation in the Tour de France with the new wheels, which also feature the new Q10 hub designed and manufactured 100% in the Basque Country. Elite-level technology with which we will compete in the world’s most prestigious cycling race, starting this weekend.
In this year’s edition of the Tour de France, the team will use all four wheels in the OQUO LTD range, each tailored to the demands of the route and the style of each rider:
- RA80 LTD: Maximum aerodynamics for high-speed time trials, with an 80 mm profile and 23 mm internal width.
- RA57 LTD: A balance between aerodynamics and weight, with a 57 mm profile and 23 mm internal width.
The go-to wheel for long stages combining flat and mountainous terrain. - RP50 LTD: With a 50 mm profile and 25 mm internal width, this stable and fast-rolling wheel performs across a variety of terrains. A versatile option ideal for more irregular stages.
- RP35 LTD: With a 35 mm profile and 21 mm internal width, this is OQUO’s lightest and stiffest wheel.
Perfect for high-mountain stages.
All LTD wheels have been developed in the wind tunnel to optimize aerodynamic performance. They feature Straight Pull spokes, Mini Hook technology for improved compatibility between rim and tire, and are equipped with the new Q10 hub designed and fully manufactured in the Basque Country. This component represents a major technical advancement and reflects OQUO’s commitment to innovation and local manufacturing. The Q10 combines high-quality materials, precision machining, a proprietary 45-tooth SHARKRATCHET system with 8° fast engagement, and custom low-friction bearings that minimize energy loss and maximize power transfer.
Additionally, its threadless design allows for tool-free disassembly, making maintenance and cleaning easier for both our team mechanics and everyday riders. It is also one of the lightest hubs on the market, with the front hub weighing just 104 g and the rear 175 g.
Thanks to this collaboration and joint development, our team enters the 2025 Tour de France with a world-class product they’ve been involved in from day one. A key milestone that reinforces OQUO’s ambition to become a global benchmark in high-performance wheels.
