Ladies Strong day out for our Lotto Ladies: Katrijn de Clercq wins at GP CHW Beveren
Katrijn de Clercq took the win in Beveren, with Anna Van Wersch finishing just behind in second place. “The race itself was fairly steady. The pace didn’t pick up much, and there were only a few small attacks,” Katrijn said after the finish. “That had me a bit concerned that the pure sprinters might still be too fresh going into the final.”
In the closing stages, the team executed a well-organized approach to control the outcome.“We worked well as a group,” Katrijn explained. “Mieke (Docx) did a lot early in the last lap. In the final kilometre, we were three riders up front — Anna (Van Wersch) on my wheel and Julie leading. Julie set a strong pace, so I could start my sprint at 200 metres to go. That turned out to be enough to hold off the others.”
Earlier in the day, our other Lotto Ladies also secured the national title in the Team Time Trial in Montenaken, highlighting their consistency and teamwork across different race formats.
