Algemeen Arnaud De Lie looks ahead to Canadian double header
First up is Québec, where the peloton will face a demanding 12-kilometer city circuit repeated 18 times—adding up to 218 kilometers of racing through the heart of the city. Two days later, attention shifts to Montréal for an equally testing course, known for its relentless climbs and a total distance of over 209,1 kilometers.
The race in Québec holds a special place for Arnaud, who claimed his first WorldTour victory here in 2023. Reflecting on past performances, he remains optimistic: "We have already shown great things here in the past. I won here in 2023 and last year we stayed with Tadej Pogacar deep into the race, which definetely sticked to our memories. This year we are also here with a strong lineup, with Jenno Berckmoes who has also been in excellent form lately."
The Québec course has been updated for 2025. After previewing it, Arnaud is confident the changes present fresh opportunities: "We reconned the circuit today—it’s definitely different from before, but there are still plenty of chances to make a move. I feel very motivated, and my teammates share the same mindset. We’ll give it everything we have."
The last few weeks were very good for Arnaud. "Wining the GC and the last stage of Renewi Tour and wining Bretagne Classic has given me a great boost. I am in a positive flow right now, so then things always run smoother. I know for sure that me and my team mates will do everything to get the most out of it. So I am looking forward to two exciting races," Arnaud looks ahead positively.
