ProTeam Elia Viviani wins Desselgem Koerse
The race came alive in the closing circuits, with relentless attacks thinning down the peloton. Viviani showcased his tactical awareness and experience by marking the right moves and keeping himself in contention for the win. Reflecting on the finale, Viviani said: "In the last laps, there were continue attacks. Luckily I was smart enough to follow De Bondt. We ended up with the two of us with five kilometers to go. In the last kilometer, Rickaert also joined, but I was confident for my sprint. I let him start the sprint and when I felt that it was the right moment, I just went."
Today’s win marks another highlight in Viviani’s late season campaign. “I am very happy with how my shape still is so late in the season. I will continue to give everything I have. I still want to win as much as possible before the season ends,” he acknowledged.
