What a weekend for Matys Grisel and the youngsters of Lotto–Groupe Wanty. After yesterday’s win, another victory was almost within reach today. Grisel just missed out on the top step of the podium at the Grand Prix de la Ville de Lillers Souvenir Bruno Comini.
“Nevertheless, I’m really very happy with this new podium place,” Grisel said. “The team did an incredible job for me, it was truly the perfect lead-out. Unfortunately, I made a small mistake by waiting, let’s say, three seconds before launching my sprint. I shouldn’t have done that. Of course, I can’t change that now. What I take away from this is that the team did an amazing job, we can really be proud. All of this gives confidence for what’s to come.”
