Katrijn De Clercq secures 7th place in Tour of Bruges

Katrijn De Clercq delivered a strong performance today at Tour of Bruges, finishing in a well-earned 7th place. “The whole race I was feeling strong, so finishing this off with a 7th place makes me really happy”, says De Clercq satisfied.

Despite expectations of a decisive role for the wind, the race unfolded in a more controlled manner, with the peloton staying largely intact. This set the stage for a fast and competitive sprint finish, where timing and positioning were key.

De Clercq rode attentively throughout the race and entered the final kilometers in an excellent position among the lead group. Lining up just behind riders from AG Insurance Soudal and Team Visma | Lease a Bike, she was ideally placed to launch her sprint.

“I was positioned very well for the sprint right behind the ladies of AG Insurance Soudal and Team Visma | Lease a Bike. I only had to brake a bit which made me lose a bit of momentum. The whole race I was feeling strong so I am really happy with my 7th place. I am already looking forward to the next race”, De Clercq says satisfied.
