Development Dolven storms to victory in stage 2 of Tour de Bretagne

In an exciting second stage, Halvor Dolven claimed an impressive victory in the Tour de Bretagne, turning an early breakaway into success. “It was a difficult season for me so far so it was nice to show my level”, Dolven says.
Race 26 April 2026

The race came alive just 15 kilometers after the start, when Dolven launched an attack alongside three other riders. The group of riders quickly established a gap, while Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe controlled the pace in the peloton. Despite the peloton keeping the advantage within a manageable margin, the breakaway remained committed.

With only 10 kilometers to go, the break away got reeled in. In the final sprint, Dolven proved the strongest. After the race, Dolven reflected on his achievement: “I’m very happy with the victory! I never really believed in the win because we were only with four in the breakaway. Only with 3km to go I started to think it could be possible. It was also very strange to be in the breakaway with my childhood friend Sebastian (Veslum) who is from the same town as me. It was a difficult season for me so far so it was nice to show my level and also deliver when I have the chance."
