Development Milan De Ceuster finishes a very close second in ITT of the Ronde van Vlaams-Brabant
Eight-tenths of a second. That was the narrow margin between winner Brem Deman (EFC-L&R - Van Mossel) and Milan De Ceuster, who thus finished second in the fourth stage of the Ronde van Vlaams-Brabant. It was a time trial starting from Bertem. De Ceuster is disappointed, but at the same time, pleased with his podium finish: "Losing by such a small margin is tough. But on the other hand, it was the first time this season I really felt good on the time trial bike. I've been working on this for a long time. I have the profile to be a good time trialist, but it hasn’t really come out so far. That's why I'm trying to fine-tune all the details. This year, I've already visited the bike fitter six times to get into the perfect position. I hope these preparations will start to pay off now. In Waregem, on September 1st, there’s another time trial on the calendar. So, there are still chances to come."
Tomorrow, Sunday, the final stage of the Ronde van Vlaams-Brabant is on the program. Liam Van Bylen lost his leader’s jersey in today's time trial, but the chances of overall victory are not yet lost. "Both Liam and Joshua Giddings are still within 15 seconds of the leader. It can still go any way, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got with the team tomorrow."
