Development 9th place for Steffen De Schuyteneer at U23 European Championship

The U23 riders faced a tough race in Limburg. They encountered rain and strong winds, and after an early breakaway by a large leading group, the Belgians had to work hard from the back. "We eventually caught them, but it took a lot of effort," Steffen De Schuyteneer reflects. "On the first cobbled section that followed, we managed to get away with a group. I was still with them then, but when the group at the front split up on the second cobbled section and three riders broke away, I was too far behind. We tried again to close the gap and got to within a hundred meters… but unfortunately, that was it."

"Of course, I expected more from my championship. I didn’t anticipate it being so tough with the wind and rain. I am disappointed."
