ProTeam Steffen De Schuyteneer sprints to 5th spot at Tour of Taihu Lake
“The plan today was I would save my legs for the sprint and Milan (Menten) would go for the boni seconds in the intermediate sprints", Steffen De Schuyteneer explains. "He took 4 boni seconds there, which is good for the GC. There was a breakaway of five riders, which we controlled together with the team of the leader. The finish was chaotic, we lost each other a bit, but in the end a fifth spot is nice. “
“Tomorrow there are two climbs in the course, we will see how the race evolves and what we can still do for the GC. We are in a good position ahead of the final stage, with myself, Milan and Joshua (Giddings) in the top 10 of the GC, I keep the youth jersey and we will try to finish it off in a great way.”
