ProTeam Steffen De Schuyteneer sprints to a strong 9th place in the fourth stage of the UAE Tour

The fourth stage, which took place between Fujairah Qidfa Beach and Umm al Quwain, featured a completely flat finish, making it a predicted battle for sprinters. Steffen takes us through his sprint: “I felt really good. It was a nerve-racking sprint, especially because of the echelons that preceded it.” Even though his lead-out rider, Lionel, suffered a flat tire 10 kilometers from the finish, Steffen remained calm: “At 900 meters from the line, I was around 25th place, which was quite far back. Still, I managed to position myself well and fight my way forward."

For Steffen, this was his first sprint among the top sprinters. “Maybe I could’ve had a bit more confidence. I’ll take this experience with me and look forward to sprinting again over the next two days."

Lennert Van Eetvelt held onto his 10th place in the general classification. With several challenging stages still to come, there’s plenty of potential for further movement in the rankings.
