ProTeam Elia Viviani takes the win in stage 7 of Tour of Turkey

In stage 7 of the Tour of Turkey, Elia Viviani showed off how his experience can continue to lead to victories. Despite a crash in the final kilometer that disrupted the peloton, Elia managed to navigate through the chaos, sprinting to a magnificent win. The whole team worked extremely hard to get him through the last kilometers. “I would like to thank the whole team for their major efforts. Especially Jasper De Buyst with his amazing lead out. He launched me in a perfect position and at a perfect speed”, he says gratefully.

This victory adds up to Elia’s impressive list of achievements, marking this as his 90th race win of his career. “For me it is a very special feeling. It’s the first win in quite some time and the first one with Lotto.”

Yet, Elia and the rest of the team stay focussed on what is still to come: “We came here with the goal to win races & I feel responsible for that too. We remain focussed for tomorrow because we might have an opportunity there as well for the team. We really needed this victory today so I hope we can continue the flow.”
