Development Lotto Development on fire in Tour of South Bohemia: second, third and sixth place in stage 3

Earlier this week, Aldo Taillieu had already finished second, and Matys Grisel claimed a fine eighth place yesterday. Today, the team secured second, third, and sixth place. In Horská Kvilda, Lucas Van Gils finished second, Milan Donie completed the podium, and Victor Van de Putte crossed the line in sixth.

“Today was the toughest stage of the week,” said Lucas Van Gils. “We planned to open up the race with 50 kilometers to go. That worked perfectly: we got away with five riders, including Milan Donie and Niels Driessen, who were the perfect pacers for the successive climbs. That way, we managed to stay clear of the chasers. On the final climb, I reached the top together with the eventual winner.”

The last three kilometers ran downhill toward the finish. “Milan (Donie) was able to come back and set me up perfectly. It’s a pity I was beaten right at the line, but tomorrow we want to give everything once again with this fantastic team. I’m second in the general classification, six seconds behind the leader…”
