ProTeam Arnaud De Lie finishes 8th in GP de Québec

The demanding Québec circuit once again delivered a selective race, where positioning and timing proved crucial. The team decided to wait for the final sprint but missed out on the opportunity to go for the win, after Julian Alaphilippe’s solo. Nevertheless, Arnaud De Lie managed to sprint to eighth place. “Sometimes, when you gamble, you can lose too. And today was one of those days”, he says afterwards.

Reflecting on the race, De Lie commented: “Unfortunately, we were not in the mix for the victory today. But a big congratulations to Julian (Alaphilippe), he is a great champion. It was a bit of a pity that barely any other team wanted to pull with us. In the sprint I still felt very fresh, so that’s a sign that the form is still good. We didn’t win today, but all in all I am satisfied with my eighth place. In the end, it’s all part of this sport.”
