ProTeam Arnaud De Lie sprints to second place in Münsterland

Arnaud De Lie finished second in the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro. In the sprint, he was narrowly beaten by Jasper Philipsen. “It’s a pity about a pothole in the road during the sprint, otherwise I might have been able to win again.”

No four out of four for De Lie today in the Sparkassen Münsterland Giro. In the anticipated bunch sprint, he took second place. “In Münsterland you know in advance that it will come down to a sprint,” said Arnaud De Lie. “Then you know that becomes the focus of the day. A second place is fine-especially behind Philipsen, who also won here last year- I can be happy with that.”

The local lap was marred by a crash, in which Tim Merlier also went down. “I hope everyone is okay. A local lap like this is always chaotic, and with a sprint finish in sight you have to take risks and hope to get through it. I myself almost crashed as well, because of a pothole in the road, right in the middle of the sprint. Without that incident, I might have been able to win.”
