Development Successful day of racing for Lotto-Groupe Wanty Development Team
In the demanding Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23, Kamiel Eeman battled through an aggressive race to secure 10th place. The Ardennes classic proved selective from the outset, with constant attacks and ever-changing race situations putting riders under pressure throughout the day.
Eeman reflected on the chaotic nature of the race: "It was a very remarkable race with complete chaos. There was never a moment to really settle into a rhythm. The attacks just kept coming, and every climb created new splits. You had to stay sharp and anticipate everything. In the final, it became a real fight for positioning and survival. I’m satisfied to come away with a top 10 in such a hard race."
In France, Keije Solen delivered a powerful ride to take victory in stage four of Tour du Loir-et-Cher. In a challenging scenario with only two riders remaining from our team, Solen managed to convert his strong form into a well-earned win.
He credited both mindset and perseverance for the result: "Tough times never last but tough people and teams do. That was the message in the PowerPoint from sports director Zico Waeytens before the start, and it really stayed with me during the race. It feels amazing to take this win, especially with just two of us left in the race. I’ve been feeling strong in the past days, but in previous races I couldn’t fully show it because of bad luck. To finally turn that feeling into a victory brings a lot of satisfaction, and it gives me extra motivation for the races ahead."
Completing a memorable day for the team, Duarte Marivoet powered to victory at the Chrono Challenge Poperinge.
After his win, Marivoet looks back with satisfaction: "I really paced my effort well from start to finish and felt in control throughout the entire time trial, also thanks to the team present to assist me. On a course like this, it’s all about finding the right balance and holding your speed without going over the limit too early. I managed to keep a steady rhythm and push all the way to the line. To take the win in an effort like this is very rewarding and shows that the work we’ve been doing on my time trial is paying off."
With success across multiple terrains and race formats, our Lotto-Groupe Wanty Development team once again demonstrated their versatility and determination.
