Ladies From the Olympic ice to the Ardennes roads: Sandrine Tas ready for her debut in Flèche Wallonne

A new and exciting story begins this Wednesday for our Lotto–Intermarché Ladies, as Sandrine Tas makes her debut in the peloton at La Flèche Wallonne. The Belgian athlete, fresh from an outstanding winter campaign, is ready to take on a new challenge in the peloton. “I’m really looking forward to wearing the Lotto–Intermarché kit for the first time”, Tas smiles.
Race 20 April 2026

Only weeks ago, Tas was competing at the Winter Olympics, where she delivered strong performances with a fourth place in the 5000m and a seventh place in the 3000m. After closing her skating season, she took a short period to recover before shifting her full focus to cycling. “After my skating season, I took some time to rest and recharge. Since the opening weekend, I’ve been following the races on TV, and it definitely gives you the urge to be out there in the peloton yourself”, Tas explains motivated.

In recent weeks, Tas has been building her form on the bike, adapting to the demands of the sport and integrating into the team environment. “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been training hard, and fortunately everything has gone well. I feel ready to start racing again, and I’m really looking forward to wearing the Lotto–Intermarché kit for the first time.”

Her debut comes in one of the most prestigious races on the calendar. Known for its demanding parcours and the iconic Mur de Huy, Flèche Wallonne represents both a significant challenge and a valuable opportunity to gain experience at the highest level of road cycling. “Making my debut in such a prestigious race is a real honor. I’m sure it will be an invaluable experience for me.”

While the transition from Olympic ice to the professional peloton requires time and adaptation, Tas approaches this new phase with determination and a clear sense of purpose. Her endurance background and elite athlete mindset are strong assets as she begins her journey in cycling.

For Lotto–Intermarché, this debut reflects a commitment to developing versatile athletes and supporting long-term progression. Lining-up for our team in Flèche Wallonne, alongside Sandrine Tas will be: Dina Boels, Marieke Meert, Annelies Nijssen and Ilken Seynave.
