Ladies Linda Riedmann sprints to impressive victory in stage four of the Volta a Portugal Feminina
"I'm really happy. I've actually been looking forward to this stage for a long time. From the very beginning of the race, I had this stage in mind. Yesterday evening I was a bit disappointed when a small part of the stage had to be removed, but it was still a very hard race and I knew this finish suited me well. I'm really happy I was able to finish it off," said Riedmann.
The German rider came out on top after a demanding finale, with the final climb proving decisive. "The final climb was honestly the hardest part. The pace was really high and, with everyone attacking from the bottom, we just had to keep pushing all the way to the top."
With one stage remaining, the general classification is still wide open. Annelies Rijssen remains third overall, just five seconds behind the race leader.
