Development Jarno Widar claims queen stage in Tour de l’Avenir

From the very start, the Belgian team set the tone. By taking control early on, they ensured the race was selective and played directly into their leader’s strengths. Their tireless work paved the way for Widar to go for the win when the gradients kicked up in the decisive final climb towards Tignes.

The victory carries special meaning for Widar, who was determined to make up for what he lost last time: “After last year, when I had an off day on a crucial day here in Tour de l’Avenir, this win feels very important to me. This is one of the most important races on the calendar for us, so to be able to win the queen stage feels very special,” Widar reflects.
