ProTeam Van de Putte sprints to strong 6th place in Antwerp Port Epic

From the start, the team showed great commitment and teamwork throughout the race, controlling key moments. Van de Putte managed to make the decisive move of the day, escaping with a small group of nine riders that gained and maintained an advantage over the peloton. The select group would go on to battle it out for the win, with the race coming down to a hard-fought finale.

For Van de Putte, the result marks an important confirmation in a season where he has repeatedly shown strong physical condition, but where results stayed out for him. “I have been feeling very good the whole season but unfortunately the good results stayed away. When riding with our Lotto-Groupe Wanty Developement Team, I always managed to get the good results but with the World-Tour team it stayed away, which was a bit frustrating. But today I felt really strong and I enjoyed the race a lot."

"Of course I knew who to pay attention to but all these guys have tons of experience and are so strong. In the final kilometers, my legs started to cramp so never could sprint for the win. But I am really happy that I could finally turn my good legs in a top 10 place today”, Van de Putte reflects after the race.
